Description
Studio album release October 10 2025
Crayon Phase from Westphalia, caused some stir in the Prog scene with their first PPR release “Two Hundred Pages” in 2019.
The new album "Synthetic Mind" contains all known musical elements of the Crayon Phase sound, like complex structures and cinematic arrangements, but also some straight and more energetic parts with heavy Guitars and massive Keys. Some songs were written with a more song orientated approach, with catchy vocal lines and choruses.
Even though the album was written as a collection of indi-vidual songs, all lyrics circle around one major topic and captures society's exciting, yet frightening journey from the challenges of our time into a dystopic future. It includes a reflection on current crises, social polarization, political ten-sions and the rapid advancement and risks of modern tech-nologies, AI and robotics. It touches both the yearning for innovation and progress, as well as the risks and challenges associated with our dependence on technology. The danger of societies failing due to technological misdevelopment or societal failure, offers a thoughtful perspective on the potential consequences, if humanity lose control over technology.
